Searching for a fantastic recipe no longer seems to be a problem.
In fact, with the plethora of cookbooks, television shows catered to food and recipes, the internet and of course the tried and tested family favourties leaves you with more choice than ever. But, having these choices is fantastic and helpful and can also be overwhelming. Here are some tips to help you filter through recipes so you can find what isbest for you.

What ingredients does the recipe call for? Are the ingredients readily available? If you have to search high and low just for one or two ingredients, chances are you may not get around to really using the recipe. Of course, in this case, consider substituting some hard to find ingredients with other choices that are more readily available. At least this way you can say this is your own recipe!

Does the cooking method fit your lifestyle? The first thing you may want to consider about the cooking method is how healthy is it? If a recipe calls for deep frying, consider baking/roasting instead. If you absolutely want to use the higher stout cooking method, try not to use it often. Another vital factor is do you have the right tools and if not, do you know how to make modifications? For example if a recipe calls for steamed vegetables, and you do not own a steamer, could you boil the vegetables instead? Also, consider how much time is required from start to end, including preparation and actual cooking time. If it is a long process, question yourself if you have the patience!

Be aware of the nutritional value. Can you modify any unhealthy thoughts for more nutritious ones? Especially if you have medical health issues (diabetes, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, any food allergies) be careful to follow the guidelines set out by your doctor.
